Top Hung or Centre Pivot?

Centre pivot windows are opened from the top, with a control bar that can easily be reached even if there’s furniture in front of the window. However, the window does intrude on the interior, so this is often a better option in larger spaces, or where the windows are placed lower down the wall.

Top hung windows open from the bottom, so the handle along the base of the window needs to be easily accessible to open comfortably. These are ideal for higher windows without furniture or obstructions in front of them.

All of our Velux windows are ideal for humid rooms due to the moisture resistant finish and are made with high quality moulded polyurethane and an insulated timber core, which requires less maintenance than pine.

Velux Window Prices

Prices for our Velux roofline windows start around £263 including VAT for the smallest centre-pivot style, and go up to £730 including VAT for the largest safety glass options. These prices are for the window only, without flashings (which can be bought separately to create a weather-tight seal).

Flashings come in a variety of options, including slate, plain tile, and low profile tiles so that the installation still works with your existing home and roofing materials.
