Lawsons Steel is a one-stop structural steelworks for the construction trade, loft converters and homeowners. Based in a brand new facility at our Colney Heath site, Lawsons Steel combines a state-of-the-art steel fabrication plant with a sophisticated CAD design office.
We can supply anything from a single standard structural steel beam to a custom designed and manufactured package of steel structures, steel columns and steel beams for bigger builds.
The end-to-end service starts with your initial drawings, and finishes with delivery of your steel using our fleet of innovative Loft Lifter delivery vehicles, allowing conveyance of your materials
direct to a rooftop, scaffold or site with challenging access.
- Share your drawings and we’ll respond with a quote
- Accept the quote and we’ll send a CAD drawing
- Approve the CAD drawing and your construction steels will be fabricated and delivered

Our state-of-the-art CAD Design Studio can handle the most complex of construction projects, using your architectural, structural or builder’s plans as a base. Our in-house CAD design team, who are specialists in the design of construction steel, uses the latest CAD software to produce steel fabrications for loft conversion, extensions, renovation work or bespoke projects.
- All fabrication jobs come with the following services as standard:
- 3D CAD service – 3D General Assembly/ Layout with Plan/ Elevation views
- One-to-one contact with the designer dedicated to your job
- Personal consultation at our design office if required
- Full approval process prior to fabricatio
- Share your drawings and we’ll respond with a quote
- Accept the quote and we’ll send a CAD drawing
- Approve the CAD drawing and your construction steels will be fabricated and delivered
Order standard structural steel from stock, or give us your dimensions or drawings and we will produce your bespoke structural steel.
