Expanded Metal Lath (EML) provides a plaster base where traditional backing is lacking, preventing cracks and allowing curved forms. Easily cut to size, it requires a 5-6mm gap from the substrate. Overlap sheets 50mm (short edge) and 25mm (long edge), fixing perimeters at 150mm intervals and centrally at 350mm (staggered). Arrange in a brick bond pattern, wire-tying unsupported overlaps at 150mm centers.
