Gate Person - Colney Heath Branch

The Colney Heath Branch, is looking to recruit an experienced Gate / Security person. This is a full time, permanent position.

As a Gate / Security person, you will contribute to company profits, stability and growth by ensuring that our customers receive a first-class service upon arrival and departure. Always setting a positive example, ensuring that our customers see and regard us as their preferred supplier.

Key Task Requirements

• Able to maintain branch safety and security confidently and at all times.
• Demonstrate a positive and friendly attitude when dealing with customers.
• Ensure effective communication between the yard and office is maintained.
• Good administration skills and attention to detail.
• Able to demonstrate self-control and professionalism in stressful situations.
• Dependability – being honest, reliable and able to use own initiative.
• Maintain high standards of tidiness and cleanliness.
• Reasonable level of fitness.

Key Skill Requirements

• Previous experience within a Builders Merchants or similar desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
• Good knowledge of Building Materials and Timber Products
• Building & Timber Product knowledge
• Relate to co-workers in a supportive manner
• The ability to work under pressure and to multi task.
